Set Up Analysis Options

Your analysis options determine the structures to plot during a tracing for each type of analysis you use. If your preferred analysis is not available in SmartCeph, you can create your own, or contact Ortho2 to find out more about our custom analysis service.

How to Get Here

• Main ribbon bar > Analysis section > Options.

   

  Click Options from the Analysis section of the main SmartCeph ribbon bar.

• You can also open Analysis Options from the SmartCeph button.

Choose Your Settings

• Print trace on report - Use the Print trace on report setting to choose whether to include agraphic of the trace and analysis at the bottom of the Analysis report.

• Select analysis to work with - Use the Default Analysis field to select the analysis to work with. If you have created or installed one or more custom analysis templates, enter the location of the file(s) in the Path to Custom Analysis field so that they will be included in the list.

   

  

  ---

• Review structures - The structures required for the selected analysis appear in the Structures in Analysis column. Other structures that SmartCeph supports, but are not required for the given analysis appear in the Available Structures column.

• Select structures to use - Use the [<] and [>] arrows to move structures from one column to the other. When you trace a ceph, you will be prompted to place the Selected Structures .

   

  

  ---

  • Superimposition requirement - In order to align the ceph on the lateral facial photo for superimposition, it is necessary to include Upper Soft Tissue and Lower Soft Tissue in the Selected Structures column.

  • Mandible replacements - If the selected analysis requires Mandible , you can remove Mandible from the Select Structures column and replace it with either Mandible with Articulare or Mandible with Ramus. If the selected analysis requires Mandible Symphysis, you can replace it with Mandible Symphysis Supra Pogonion.

• Reorder structures - Use the up and down arrows to place the selected structures in the order you wish to trace them.

• Finish - Click Ok when the Selected Structures column shows all and only the structures you wish to trace.

Notice!

• Structure components -  The default structures list and landmarks have been carefully crafted and reviewed for accuracy.  Each landmark includes:

  • Name - This is the name that appears in the structures list.

  • Sound - This is a .WAV file that speaks the name of the landmark as SmartCeph prompts you to plot that point. (You hear the name only if you have enabled your audio prompts. See "Set Up Trace Options" for details.)

  • Picture - This is a .png file that displays a graphical representation of the current landmark in the workspace window as you trace an image.

  • Description - This is the technical terminology for the landmark that is displayed just under the picture described above.

• Custom analysis options - In addition to the standard analysis choices built into SmartCeph, you can create your own analysis templates, or Ortho2 can, at your request, provide custom analyses for a fee. (See "Create & Manage Custom Analysis" for details about creating your own analysis, or contact Ortho2 for more information.)
